“Cieplice occurring at the mouth of the Olczyska Valley are a natural habitat for many species of amphibians and reptiles. The place got its name from the numerous salamanders occurring here centuries ago, called by the highlanders “lizards”. The concept of creating an amphibian protection center in the place of former thermal pools was created in 2003. The aim of this project was to create conditions similar to natural in which it would be possible to breed and observe rare and endangered species of amphibians: salamanders, newts and frogs, and reptiles: lizards and snakes. Another very important aspect was the need for ecological education of the society.

A didactic path consisting of five stops was marked around the site. Detailed information about the path can be found on the boards and in the guide issued by the TPN in 2006. The animals have at their disposal several artificial reservoirs that look like natural, overgrown ponds. There are grass frogs, common toads, fire-bellied toads, mountain and Carpathian newts, and spotted salamanders.

Opening hours and tickets
The resort is open every day during the working hours of a nearby ticket point. The property is closed at all other times. Entry tickets to the Tatra National Park are valid at the resort. ”
